The ebb and flow of the tides are seen here over the Pacific Oceans drain. A sinkhole feature referred to as Thors Well, drains the oceans incoming waves. When the tide is at just the right height, waves flows over the well just perfectly and then flush down inside with the speed of a drain. As the water disappears within the well, another wave comes crashing in to take its place. This image depicts the movement of the water as it drains into the well from all directions. I feel this black and white composition allows the viewer to follow all the tiny lines the water creates on its recession into the well. Color would be just too distracting.
