Meet the 2021 Kind of Katmai!!! Otis the brown bear won Katmai National Parks famed Annual Fat Bear Week Competition. The annual competition pits some of the fattest bears on the planet against each other to see who has gained the most weight and mass from the period they arrive at the world renowned Brooks River, until early October when the competition is held. Otis arrived at the river well behind his fellow fat bear competitors, but thru months of diligence in stuffing his chubby belly with thousands of sockeye salmon, came out victorious. He may not have been the physically biggest bear in Katmai, but he certainly put on the most weight as compared to his competitors.
