Some mornings are just better than others. This was not supposed to be one of them. the forecast was rather dim. However as I was was passing thru Sedona for the night I stopped at this location to scout for a possible sunset. However there were too many people and the skies didn’t want to play along. There was a giant low landing cloud blocking out all the beautiful light. So I was up early (4am) the next morning and as luck would have it, after hiking to this location, I had this location all to myself. The chance of color was still supposed to be slim but whenI have the opportunity to get out and after it, I do. You miss 100% of the chances you don’t take. This ended up one of the best sunrises of my entire life. The skies lit up and hit so many different shades of pink and purples it was wonderful. Unlike most sunrises where I seem to get only about 30 seconds of great light, this one lasted. I had ever changing beautiful light for almost 15 minutes. This image ended up being one of my two favorite images from that amazing morning.
