I was visiting a little know place called Vermillion Cliffs in Northern Arizona when I ventured into a few new places. I was hiking around and found this beautiful tree growing out of the middle of this giant pile of cauliflower shaped sandstone formations and couldn’t help but take a few pictures of its uniqueness. I retuned at sunset when the last bit of light was in the sky and composed my image. I used a 10 stop filter plus a graduated neutral density filter which I inverted to allow for the night sky and foreground to be illuminated similarly with a long exposure. It was a lot of fun trying challenging images like these. This is another one of those images where I had multiple camera setups going with different exposure intervals to make this image happen.
