Superstitions Aurora

Every squirrel finds a nut once in a while and on April 24, 2023, I found this one. I was photographing the milky way arch over the Superstition Mountains in Arizona when I kept getting this weird pink glow that would change shape and brightness every minute or so. Truth be told I thought it was a camera issue until I turned 180 degrees, captured a few dark frames and realized the sensor was working fine. It wasn’t until later that I realized the Northern Lights were seen as far south as Phoenix with a G4 Geomagnetic Storm and a KP 9. Just happens that I was in the right place at the right time.
