The Alaskan Journeymen is a black and white photograph of a coastal brown bear on the Alaska Peninsula. Bears will comb the shorelines and beaches for anything food related the may be brought in with the last high tide or on windy days. The beach is also the easiest path of travel for the bears. I was headed down the beach myself when this brown bear emerged only about 30 feet in front of me. The best thing to do is to let the bear first know you are there and second yield the right of way to them. So I headed into the the thick alders as best I could and let the bear pass. The light was rough but I was able to capture a few clicks of my camera while it passed by under some rays of sun. What an amazing experience.
