One of my absolute favorite things is to watch bear cubs play. Especially brown bear cubs as they tent to be fatter and fluffier than most inland grizzlies. A bear that frequents the Brooks River in Alaska had 4 babies (COY) or cubs of the year in spring of 2022. I knew that I wanted to see them really bad and so I made the journey from Colorado to the Alaskan Peninsula to search for them. They had a radius or home range of about 10 miles but they had been spotted just 2 days before my arrival after non being seen for over a month. Once I found the fur balls I was definite in utter delight and couldn’t take my eyes off of them. Even with taking thousands of images of them, I never thought I would get a photo like this with all of them sitting in a line and looking my direction. Successfully getting this kind of image has about the same probability as a brown bear having 4 cubs… 2%.
