Bison Silhouette
An early spring morning up Slough Creek in the northern range of Yellowstone National Park, a silhouetted bison stands watch over his domain. It was predawn when the skies began to come to life with soft purples and blues. It was only moments later when two bison crested the hilltop in front of me. The bison pictured gave the other bison a delicate ‘bison style’ nudge and off he went into the shadows. The victor remained upon the hilltop until the sun rise high enough to warrant him moving off to find some shade.
