The consuming fire. The most beautiful laceless Japanese Maple tree on Earth. This 9ft tall maple changes colors over 4 days, Green to Yellow, Yellow to Orange, Orange to Red and on the 4th and finally day, the leaves begin to drop. Often Japanese Maples tend to change over a couple weeks time, but not this little fella, he’s quick. This image was taken first thing in the morning and at the beginning of a torrential down pour, as you can see a fair amount of the delicate leaves have already fallen blanketing the ground. By the evening when I returned to check on the little tree, all the leaves were gone.
