Wow, what can I say about this image. Other than it’s real, all real. I was spending sometime in Southern Oregon photographing the coastline when I came across this small sea arch. I photographed it in the morning thinking it was pretty neat, but knew I needed to come back at sunset, and man was I right. The sun bore through the hole like a flashlight in the dark. I had to substantially underexpose this capture to allow the sun to show its shape and for the water to be anything other than a bight white moving blur. For about a minute, moments before sunset, the sun dropped down from below a cloud and when the ocean swells aligned just right, they allowed me to capture an amazing set of colors on their surface through the keyhole.
