Mesa Fire

This was one of those rare opportunistic images where I was not actually out doing landscape photography, but fly fishing. And the fish was good! I had hiked up to a high mountain lake in the Grand Mesa of Colorado in search of the illusive tiger trout. Just as the sun started to set below the top of the high plateau, colors of unreal depth and saturation began to form and meander throughout the evening sky. They began with bright reds and oranges and finalized with soft pinks and purples.
