River Trout
Colorado is home to some of the best trout waters in the west. It’s also home to some of the best fly fishing for trout. The problem we encounter with trout photos is that they are typically in nets or in wet hands for the infamous ‘grip-n-grin’ shot. My challenge was to try and capture something ‘alot’ more natural. 30 Years ago the Doloros River in Southern Colorado used to the #1 trout river in North America, but to to an excessive overuse of water it virtually went dry. Now many years later it is in recovery mode. I couldn’t think of a more beautiful scene and story then to try and get an a half underwater image of a trout swimming happily in the once again flowing currents of the Doloros.
