Description
I’ve hiked countless miles in searching for the Great Gray Ghost only to come up empty handed. One morning, after completing a couple mile lone hike at dawn only to come up empty handed again, I saw something large fly right over my truck as I was pullling away from the trailhead. I stopped the truck quicky, jumped out as quietly as I could and climbed an adjacent hill to get a better view. Suddenly I found myeslf eye level with the much elusive Gray Ghost. It posed for me and ruffled its feathers a time or two. I think it even smiled knowing how hard I had search for may years to find him. This was the most perfect owl, relaxed and patient. It stayed with me for the better part of an hour, before it eventually flew off.
