Chasing after fall color in southern Colorado usually has the possibility of crazy excitement. I was hoping the skies would open up after a brief shower and let some light in just before sunset, but that wasn’t the case. The clouds grew angrier and angrier until just the tiniest amount of pink light touched the clouds above Mt. Sneffels creating this dramatic scene. With the lack of light, the goal then became to establish a moody feeling as it better represents the mountains attitude than the beauty of the changing fall colors. Image taken Oct 2022
