I love silhouettes of wildlife and Ive been after an image like this image for nearly 5 years. Timing and perspective are everything when it comes to sunrise photography and I’ve just never been presented with an opportunity like this until recently. I was out photographing the lake shore when I spotted some spruce grouse picking up pebbles at the edge of the beach. I slowly laid down with them and gathered some really exquisite low angle images. When I looked up from the back of my camera, a sow and 2 cubs were passing in front of me. I took advantage of the situation and captured several unique images while I called out  ‘heeeeeeyy bears’ so that my presence wouldn’t ultimately spook them, but they already know was there and just continued on their morning stroll down the beach. What a wonderful experience.
